Worth writing about
- Corrections. The most useful thing you can send. Name the article and what is wrong with it. See the editorial standards for how these are handled and credited.
- Something unclear. If an article assumes knowledge it should have explained, that is a fault in the article. Saying so helps.
- A gap. If you came here with a question and left without an answer, that is worth knowing.
- Reuse. Quoting with a link needs no permission. Anything more, ask.
Not worth writing about
- Requests for onion addresses or link lists. Not published here, for reasons set out in the editorial standards, and not sent privately either.
- Marketplace or vendor recommendations. None are given.
- Help with anything illegal. Not answered.
- Link exchanges, guest posts and advertising. Not accepted.
Before you send anything
Ordinary email is not private. It is readable by your provider and by the recipient’s, it is stored on servers you do not control, and it carries information about where it came from.
Do not send anything you would not want connected to you. If you have a question that would identify you or your situation, consider whether it can be asked in general terms instead. Most can.
Nothing you send is published without asking first.
